Judge Abu Bakr Ibn Asim al-Andalusi composed his book, «Tuhfat Al-Hukam,» consisting of 1699 verses in which he collected what concerns the judge from what was called personal status (marriage, divorce, inheritance, etc) and transactions of sales, emancipation, guardianship, etc. It is according to the Maliki school of thought, and one of the Maliki scholars at-Tusuli explained it in «Al-Bahja» and he mentions the famous dispute. Another explanation of the masterpiece by Abu Abdullah al-Tawudi al-Maliki was printed with the book, and it is shorter than the first.

نظم القاضي أبو بكر ابن عاصم الأندلسي أرجوزته « تحفة الحكام » من 1699بيتا جمع فيها ما يهم القاضي مما سمي أحوالا شخصية ( النكاح والطلاق والإرث وما يتبع ذلك) ومعاملات البيوع، العتق، والوصاية، وما يتبع ذلك . وهي على المذهب المالكي، فشرحها أحد علماء المالكية التسولي في « البهجة » وهو يذكر من الخلاف ما اشتهر وطبع مع الكتاب شرح آخر للتحفة لأبي عبد الله التاودي المالكي، وهو أخصر من الأول.
